Performer, director, producer. Fifteen years, more than a hundred awards, and a body of work I own outright. This is how that happened — and why the best of it lives behind a door.
Movement I
I was told to pick a lane.
Everyone had a version of me they wanted to sell, and every one of them was smaller than the real thing. I said no often enough that people stopped asking — and then I started producing myself.
Movement II
So I took the camera.
Directing changed what the work could be. No committee deciding what an audience is ready for. No one softening an idea before it is shot. The awards followed, but they were never the point.
Movement III
Now I keep a small room.
The archive is not a feed and it is not for everyone. It is for the people who wanted the whole thing rather than the trailer — and who understand that being let in is the point.
